A New Era As A Creative
Hello, New Era…
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated with creativity. From photography to music, I’ve always gravitated towards different mediums and have been willing to learn their process.
Sometime last year, I decided that the creative industry was no longer for me. In 2020, I nearly stopped playing music all together and picked up a camera. This led me down a path of new art forms like photo, video, and creative production. In 2022, those skills extended in business marketing and branding. For some reason, I still convinced myself that despite all of the new opportunities I had to learn and grow, creativity wasn’t a career path. While I ran my business, I began an entirely different pursuit into a completely different career path. Near the end of 2022, I was still determined to switch careers…until friends of mine reeled me back to Nashville and reminded me of my calling.
One even mentioned to me over and over again that like many other paths in life, “creativity isn’t just a gift, it’s a calling”. Being stubborn to a fault, I didn’t believe it.
2023 ushered me in with an overwhelming wave of friendships, projects, and for the first time in years, creative vision. The past couple weeks have been filled with defining moments that have helped me realize that being a creative is one of the best jobs in the world and I wouldn’t change it.
This week, I’m wrapping up final projects from 2022 and organizing all that is to come in 2023. The Harpeth Hotel in Franklin, Tennessee has been the perfect space to retreat and reflect on everything with gratitude.
Here’s to a new era of stepping into a new era and stepping up as an official multi-creative business owner!
